Summary
Founded in 1995 by Sam Cohen, Energy Solutions has sought to not just evolve with clean energy, but to drive the change within it (their words not mine). ES began it's work in energy efficiency and high impact solutions. Their efforts are reportedly market-driven, leading in utility and government led clean energy programs serving as the focus for their inception 30 years ago. In 2013 they switched their company structure to an employee owned model (ESOP), and has since grown nationally across offices in California, New York, and other areas of the country.
Energy Solutions is continuing to grow based off reports from Glassdoor, Climatebase, and AESP. Their shift from Demand-Side Management (DSM) programs, an early approach to energy market penetration, has since evolved. They now engage with manufacturers and distributors with upstream and midstream approaches, and has reportedly yielded up to 900% of energy savings verses traditional downstream programs.
Energy Solutions has produced several commendable acheivements that include AESP's Ground Breaking Program Design and Implementation Award. Their website demonstrates detailed and quantifiable information related to their market impact, but they have yet to produce a certifiable sustainability report. Many companies in their space, especially having existed for so long, are able to publish and provide their companies impact in a succinct report. In leiu of this, they do serve as a GlobalABC member and as such engage in code development and third party accountability.
